At Texas A&M, fewer student centered events are more important than the election of the Student Body President. With no prior student-politics experience – Bryan Sims was the underdog candidate. With that consideration, a film that would get him elected must inspire students, reflect honor upon past A&M traditions, explain his standing on important issues, and showcase support from various famous members of the Texas A&M student body.
The film must also completely demolish preconceived notions about what makes a good student body president video. Up until this point, with very few exceptions, campaign videos were very much an afterthought that existed to fill an unspoken requirement of “filming something for the voters to watch”.
This film was completed after approximately 100 hours of work.
You may remember my friend Bryan Sims from my Autobiography video. Having been his close friend since we were both very young, when he approached me with the request to help him film a Student Body Campaign video, I jumped at the chance. I haven’t filmed this variety of the Texas A&M campus since I filmed my Why I’m An Aggie video.
Every shot has a story and has been carefully selected. I hope you enjoy the final work.
